EXCLUSIVE : December 30th Stock’s of Nokia 5800 Xpress Music Arrive . ?
Well i laid my hands on the documents nokia sent all NDP dealers with all sort’s of instructions on them . From how to sell the phone to how to pre book it , It also mentioned how today all stores will go into 5th gear about it’s 5800 Xpress Music ( Which came out to be right on time ) . Other details including the LX90 ( Free headphone’s for pre booker’s) and how to distribute that was also told . The Most important thing i read on the paper tucked at the end of it was “ December 30th all Nokia Priority Dealer’s Must be Stocked “
Stocked with what ? We are guessing the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music device’s this news i can further confirm after the man who we pre booked the phone with said the stock’s are coming by most likely December 29th the date’s (most likely nokia is done with confirmations ) . What will happen though is that all sales will begin together all over india ( In Pure nokia ishtyle ) But then Nokia cleverly said “ 1st week of January “ .This could be Jan 1, Jan 3rd etc etc . So it looks like a job for Stalker to stalk again for more details

dis is beacuse nokia’s billing is closed till 3nd jan. so all wil get fone from 3rd onwards. one more thing which those papers, precisely d last page says is that d price 20 k is tentative and may range from 20-23k.

And the non pre-bookers wont get the headphones or wil get by giving 600 extra?
This is bcoz i cant pre-book as i have 2 exchange mY n82 with 5800.

I went down to the NPD in bangalore (CMH road). Saw the live piece (in their words). Trully wonderful. Everything I expected it to be. No lag… no toy like feeling. Takes time to get used to the double tap thing. But that is ok. Phone was not loaded with much so could not checkout the contacts bar or web browsing also as there was no Wifi there.
But in short trully worth the ~22k and 3 months of wait. (one and half months since pre-booking).
Forgot the confirm about the headphones though. Was so excited to see the phone itself.

Today i gone to npd ie. Tamilnadu,i got my hands on 5800. This product is little hyped i think. Loudspeaker is disappointing ie, not as loud i expected. But screen and os is good. Since its demo low in volume or it may improve in production model.pls help. The sf version is 10.0.09..date:2/11/2008

Hey yesterday i went to check out the phone…. the documents were shown to me… & the last point said that the price of the phone may vary from 20,000 to 25,000… can any one confirm this please…. i am from Ahmedabad….

1. NOKIA HAS FIXED A PRICE OF 21.830 RUPEES.
2. THE PREBOOKING ENSURES THAT YOU GET THE PHONE, THE NEXT LOT COMES IN MARCH
3. THE VIDEO RECORDING IS AWESOME, WID A 30 FPS. NOW, THAT I’VE SEEN IT MYSELF, I CAN TELL YOU ALL.
4. IT HAS TWO SPEAKERS ON THE LEFT… ON ON THE TOP N THE OTHER ON THE BOTTOM.
5. THEY HAVE DRASTICALLY ENHANCED ON THE GRAPHICS OF THE PHONE. THE VIDEO I SAW ON IT WAS MICHAEL JACKON BLACK OR WHITE… AND IT LOOKED AS IF I’M WATCING A MOVIE… WAS TAT GOOD
6. HAVE PREBOOKED ONE, BLUE AND THE ESTIMATED DATE OF DELIVERY IS 3RD OF JAN.

Dear Pals… i checked out the demo piece today… i am sorry to say that i was a bit disappointed with the phone…. there r a few points….
first… the phone’s loud speakers are surely loud but not as loud as the classy 6233…
Second… while searching for contacts u have to enter the name & then see the entry in the contacts.. means it is not like the conventional way of finding the contacts…
Currently i am using sony’s MDR-XD100 Headphones with my N91 & the sound quality is quite impressive.. but the with the same headphones the quality.. rather the output of 5800 is too low…
Other wise the phone is good….
But i am in two minds…. whether to buy this phone or no…. please someone solve my queries

pal, the demo that u checked was not final..The operating system of the demo phones are not final., the phone which we will be getting will be superior in that the OS is upgraded..So many bugs will be fixed..The phone will be much smooth to use..And about the headphones u r sayin, N91 is far more superior than 5800 in case of music because it has the 24 bit chip which the 5800 lacks..So on comparison wit N91 here..Hope ur problem is little solved now..

hi all. i got a call from NPD for pre-booking offer. they r charging 2000 for that. and the final price is 20500 in kolkata with FREE headset. release date is 4/1/09. i think its a great offer… i’ll go for it!!!

im in 2 minds about pre booking the phone
cause if the priority price is 21.5k and the dp is 19.x
then i`ll wait and get it at dp without the phones itself. cause the FREE headphones arent actually free this way.

Hey In ahmedabad, my NPD said that the first 50 pre-bookers only will get the free headphones…. kindly confirm the news please…. & also if anyone is having N91 & has taken a demo of 5800… kindly post the comparision for the music of the two please…. it would be of great help….

OK. I checked the demo piece at NPD today. For overall experience I give it 8.5/10. Some of the things were slow. For example, camera is still slow (even if better quality), qwerty keyboard was slow, display rotation from portrait to landscape was extremely slow, causing me to wonder whether it will change at all. It did change the orientation but not before blanking out the display for almost a second. Hope the final OS takes care of this.
Stylus was toy like yes.
Speakers, I was hearing so much about them but did not find them loud at all. Max volume in a crowded mall did not sound as if they are great speakers.
What else. Yes, the camera still and video quality is good.
In terms of booking and price and goodies, the price is 20k. 600/- for the headphone (optional). No more goodies promised, maybe a box of chocolates thrown in. Phone will be pre-bundles with 100 hindi+100 english songs and special AR Rehman album of 9 songs.
Delivery date is not fixed, they just say first week of jan. He mentioned he has to make payment to Nokia in full before he receives the order. He is not likely to do that before 31st.

All Pre Booker’s will get the Headphone’s i had the chance of listning to them they are amazing not as good as say a bose but very good . !

hi friends,
i saw the live piece on 24th (bangalore).
i was not at all impressed with the phone.
its very tiny compared 2 iphone. (seeing videos in youtube i thought it to be little more bigger than it actually is… 😦 )
the sound quality was worse.. was not loud at all…
IT WAS NOT HAVING ANY 3D STEREO SOUND….
camera was ok.
accelerometer was fast.
yes stylus was very very delicate.
but the reason i am buying this is i ‘COS have already sold my N96.
i wanted 2 get rid of N96. lots of pain using it.
happy 2 use 5800…
waiting for my blue color piece.
will be getting free headset, gift from npd(maybe chocolates ) 2 tickets to PVR and a coupon to some function.
jan 3rd is the D DAY.

I also recieved a call frm the NPD here in guwahati after preebooking it online..Price-20800 and they also said about free headphones of senheiser worth 3k..He said the all india launch date is 4th jan..

I went to the NPD yesterday also again to check out the phone as i was not satisfied with the first attempt… i took a different set of headphones with me this time…(the one which comes with SE-W810i, HP model-HPM 70), & let me tell u…. i was disappointed once again…. on the music front.. it was too boomy… a hell lot of bass was there… & these headphones work too good with mah N91… so i think for music it’s not at all par with the N91…
The touchscreen was also small for my fingers… i could not write a sentence without any mistakes…
the touchscreen did not responde to a very few touches… u have to press a little hard to get the touch recognised…
As i said earlier also… the Loud speakers are not as loud as everyone was talking….
I am a music freak…. i want good music for me… & i was very disappointed with the music of 5800…. the NPD guy told me that the music in original headphones will be nice… as good as N91…but, i don’t think so…. so for me N91 is still the king in music… as for now i am sticking with mah N91 for a while… sorry to say.. i am not pre-booking it probably…
Will check out the I-pod touch 8GB first, if it goes well in music..probably i will buy that & a new phone around 13-14 k’s… that may suffies my urge..

u could not write a sentence widout a spelling mistake,its pretty obvious as u r not on a touch screen,i mean u use a nokia n91 so its pretty obvious dat u will do mistakes!
n my demo cell waz hungary made n it waz better dan n91 on sounds i took my elder bro who uses a n91 n my 4rnd who uses a n73 both of dem were very impressed wid d set n asked me 2 book so i pre-booked!
n d set u saw is 4m china as their is shortage in sets so dey r giving demo on nokia 5800 china made set!!

I just prebooked one for myself today here in guwahati..the NPD took 2k , and i was given a formal receipt , and also i recieved a formal email from nokia about confirmed prebooking..4th jan is the launch date..Cost is 21839,,and ofcourse the demo was great..It is an amazing phone..The phone that i was holding was not final, it is yet to be improved..Overall the accelerometer was good..Touch was responsive,set was handy and sexy..It was a good phone..Loved it ..Also the headphones are absolutely free
